The power system network is second most complex entity, after the INTERNET and with an increase in demand for electric power. The real-time monitoring and control of power system is become essential. In IIT Kanpur we are developing Micro-Phasor measurement unit (uPMU) and related technology for the realization of Wide-area-monitroing-system. The real-time data from the uPMUs will enlighten power engineers what actually happens under the hood and can also be used to develop/plan better strategies to improve power quality and economic.
